The Job: Black Sheepdog Tattoo is a fictional website redesign project. The shop requested an updated website. I took stock of what was working and what was not as well as performed a competitive analayis of other tattooo studio websites to see where Black Sheepdog could improve.

Creative Direction: I was inspired by 90s fashion/culture magazine layouts. I wanted to give it a contemporary feel, reflective of the renovation and revamp that was currently happening at the tattoo shop and the energy created by that. I wanted to emphasize the artistic and fashionable work of the new tattoo artists; at the same time I wanted to honour the lasting, emblematic and momentous signigicance of a tattoo.

Tattoos last forever, and the hope is when you get one that you will love it forever. I was hoping to elicit the same sentiment for this website.

The shop supplied the text and certain images - I was in charge of the rest - supplementing more images, art direction, mood of the site and its functionality.
