Katie McMahon is a multidisciplinary artist living on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She primarily works in photography, video, and new media design. She excels at creative direction, concept initiation, and creating a mood. Her work takes her to other places, and she tries to learn whose land she is on when she arrives.

Her photo and video work is framed in an aesthetic that expresses the ethereal and intangible nuances of the locations, people, and objects being photographed. She breaks into a shared memory, transporting the viewer into the uncanny, a scene that is at once familiar yet unknown.
